| "I bought a PMB-1 and a PHA-1. I am a bass player playing fretless and electric upright. I get a real sweet, pure tone with just a little hair on it that sounds warmer and boppier than the other tube preamps to me. We record direct from our mixer to a Phillips CD burner and your boxes are dead ass quiet. When I first stared using them I was amazed at how accurate they are. Playing fretless instruments, this opened a whole new world of bad intonation, though ultimately resulting in better chops. The really cool thing is when I gig, no one can believe what I am using for my sound. These little boxes kick butt."
